Viola Birthday Bash!

Join me as I celebrate a new decade of life with a celebratory selection of music for solo viola! From old favorites to new discoveries, this program celebrates the viola's inner party animal, with works by J.S. Bach, Malachi Brown, Amanda Harberg, and Joan Tower. The past year has not been anything like most of us had hoped for, but as the warmth of spring approaches, exciting changes are on the horizon—so what better way to celebrate than by breaking out your party hat, treating yourself to a delicious slice of cake, and listening to some viola jams. From Bach’s bursts of confetti, to the rich, chocolaty notes of Harberg, to the rock n’ roll acrobatics of Brown and Tower, this program will leave you with your foot tapping for the rest of the night! You only turn 30 once, so I am ecstatic to ring in this birthday by sharing a group of pieces that show off the viola’s wild side.
